The organization began in 2011 through a personal initiative of Reverend Samson Karens and his wife, Alice, in Naivasha, Kenya, when they reached out to street children in the lake town of Nakuru County. This effort was born out of Reverend Samson’s own experience as a child. Throughout his youth, he was cast aside as a homeless street urchin until caring missionaries from the U.S. rescued him from the streets, invited him to church and gave him an educational scholarship to return to school.
After experiencing the transformational power of faith and education, Reverend Samson started Change Destiny Life Africa. Today, he and his team of volunteers from around the world minister to the same streets in Naivasha to help change destinies — one vulnerable child, one education and one relationship with Jesus Christ at a time.
We currently sponsor the education for 24 full-time students ages 3-24.

Sponsor a child’s education for $50 per month or $600 per year to cover the cost of their school fees, uniform, school supplies and lunch, if needed.
Sponsor a weekly Vocational Bible School for $100 per week. Your gift will provide a safe location, transportation and snacks for our 24 sponsored students and volunteers.

We are laying the groundwork for a "kiota," or future home base of Change Destiny. Our vision is to provide a safe, loving and faith-filled shelter for our volunteers, missionaries and students who come to us in dire need of a place to live.

The nutritional needs of our students and staff is something we take very seriously. Our goal is to develop a full-scale nutritional program that will provide lunch for all of our sponsored students that commute to school on a daily basis.

Thanks to our partnership with Thirst No More Corporation, we are in the planning stages of exploring tangible projects that will create a sustainability model for Naivashan communities to generate employment and financial independence. We are also exploring building a Christian vocational school for all grades through high school.
